Biblioteca de Alejandría y Acceso al Conocimiento

Hoy 30 de Marzo se anunció desde Egipto que la Biblioteca de Alejandría, luego de varios meses de trabajo, finalmente lanzó su Plataforma Electrónica de Acceso al Conocimiento [Access to Knowledge (A2K)]. La propuesta es trabajar con diferentes redes a nivel mundial sobre acceso abierto, sobre todo en el tema de bibliotecas. Según el sitio, sus objetivos son:

“To raise the awareness of a wide array of public audience on the relationship between Intellectual Property (IP) and development on the international level, with a special focus on Access to Knowledge, for the purposes of promoting innovation and creativity and stimulating the development of an inclusive knowledge society in the Arab world.” … “We aim to target researchers, academics, librarians, students, and other interested parties in the Arab region as well as international proponents of development-oriented Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs).”
